Yesterday night, while I was eating my supper, cornflakes and dutch lady fresh milk (which tasted quite tasteless, good thing I didn't take a lot of it) and reading Chicken Soup for the Teen Soul II, a horrifying thing happened.
I felt a mini thud on my leg and I was not thudding my leg on the dining table or chair. Being the calm person I was, I took my time eating and slowly looked at my leg to see what had fallen on it.
It was a praying mantis.
I used to play with them in the past, but they were so religious that I stopped befriending them as I grew up, they kinda gave me the goosebumps. For normal people, you become scared first, then you become less scared as you grow up. I guess I'm living opposite-ly. I still think they're quite cool tho.
Anyway, I froze and yelled at my dad who was sitting on the sofa to get the green mantis off me. I even asked him for the camera first because I wanted to take a picture of it on my pants. It crawled from my right leg to my left. All the while, I was saying "Ai si, ai si, ai si" over and over again.
Ai si = want to die.
I wanted to die because there was a praying mantis on my leg. o.o
My pops, the annoyed-by-me-being-a-wuss hero finally caught the mantis and threw it outside as raw food for my dogs.
END OF THE EPIC HORROR STORY.
So I kinda get mini thuds (or goosebumps) on my skin every now and then. What are the chances of another praying mantis landing on my skin? o.O
This super scary incident led me to remember the things I used to do in the past. I'd play with grasshoppers (and accidentally press blood outta their mouths, RIP), acrida ungarica (a stick-like insect like the grasshopper), beetles (I always try to save their lives) and ladybirds (I think they smelled).
Lol. Anyway, if you're interested in watching a waterhole area in Africa, click here for a 24/7 (I think), live webcam. So far, I've seen an elephant, some deer/antelope and some really noisy birds (and of course, I also spied on some photographers/tourists/safari trackers). Some of my www.furry-paws.com aquaintances have witnessed lions and hyena packs fight and jackals playing. To me, it's incredibly exciting to watch the animals up close. =]
Peace out.
